Well another week, another deadline. I'm also taking Advanced Visual Basic so somewhere around 3am last night all the different codes got all jumbled in my head and I almost lost all my work when I hit the wrong key. Good thing I've started a habit of backing up my work very frequently. Anyway on to the reason for this post.
The project modifications for this week with CSS and XML content. I've also gone and added XSLT formatting to the XML. Its more or less a copy/paste of my W5 Lab work, but I did write a new XML file. Its a list of example items to sell and information about them.

When I get the table formatting to be better, I also want to add to it a drop down list (combo box) that lets users organize the list by category, price, and condition. I will also add a query search for names or "sounds like". Something along those lines.
This is what the project page was before the XML.

The two pages are linked as this is home page and the first link is for the Items page. Basically what I did was take the CSS design of the Home page and mesh it with XML/XSLT in the main text area. If there are any questions just let me know.
Finally is the Business Model page. This explains the two combined types of Merchant Business models that will be used for the company.

Looks great so far. I really like the way you integrated the XSL with the XML. How did you get the CSS meshed into it? I'm still trying to learn all of this!
ReplyDeleteReally I'm also learning most of this as we go too. I've known HTML and CSS for years so that was easy and I just figured I could mesh the xml and css. The key is in the xsl file.

View the source code to see how I did it. I wish I could explain better, but my brain is all but fried now lol
This seems like a good business model. You can also add in more ways for revenue though. Maybe have some ads too?
